Ideas for Second MEP

Our first MEP is about ten seconds away from being done, and will for sure be up next week. Still, while we're waiting on it, I figured we could use some of that time to talk about our NEXT MEP! YAY!

So this thread is where we can bounce around some of our ideas. I have a couple already, and I've heard others from the members.

Christmas MEP

This one's my idea. I thought it might be ideal because personally I'd like for the studio to get another MEP in before the end of the year. It's probably a bit unrealistic though, considering it took about three and a half months for our first MEP to finish. BUT, assuming we do have time, I was thinking something similar to The Nightmare Before Christmas, since this is PH we're talking about here and there are already cheery PH MEPs on YouTube if I'm not mistaken. Just a thought.

Themed MEPs

I've heard various ideas for themed MEPs from members, including the common Inner Struggles theme, a loss of innocence theme, an insanity theme - stuff like that. This is where we have the most elbow room and I'm definitely open to suggestions for new themes, songs, etc.

Tragedy of Sablier MEP

I actually like this idea - a MEP focuses solely on telling the story of the Tragedy of Sablier. It'd be especially fun since now the manga has managed to piece together a lot of the backstory. Song suggestions are open.

Story/Timeline MEP

Another really good idea is telling the whole story of the PH manga thus far. No one else has done a PH MEP like this before. It would be a massive project though, and since the PH plotline is...convoluted, at best, it might be difficult to organize the story in a way that's easy to understand. However, I think we'll definitely be pursuing this project in the future since most of the members seem to like the idea a lot. We'd also need a long song since we'd want to cover everything with equal depth, that fits just about every aspect of the manga.

I was thinking for an insanity themed MEP, Hysteria by Muse would be good. And for Christmas...Sally's Song....okay, yeah. //shot Unless someone else prefers something more Christmas-y? Also for the story MEP, my song suggestion was The Poet and the Pendulum by Nightwish, since it's hella long and I think it fits Pandora Hearts very well...then again, it'd be a massive undertaking. 13 minutes //shudders

Any other suggestions or input?

I should probably add that themed MEPs would probably turn out as character MEPs, albeit sticking to a theme and there would probably be non-canon situations allowed.

I'm going to go with the flow here and say, I wouldn't mind a themed MEP with noncanon relations...
But I also really like the timeline Idea;; though it would be a lot to cover.

Although I agree that it'd be a monster project, I love the idea of the timeline project with that song. For all the effort we'd have to put into that project, it would be one hell of an amazing MEP. I have no ideas for any themes at the moment though.

Personally I wouldn't be able to join a Christmas mep but I'm up for anything else.

Though I think a light hearted mep should go next, given that our first one was kind of angsty. Maybe one focusing on the relationship/bonds? What little of happiness they have/had? That way we'd be able to use Sharon, Ada and the whole thing between Rufus and Sheryl, since we neglected them last time. ;w; It would be a nice way to start next year too, since I doubt we'll finish it by the end of 2012 XDD

I'm totally for a light hearted mep!
This idea seems great; we could show some cute&warm scenes about the forgotten hapiness between all the characters and i don't really want now to edit with hurt/sad/angsty theme ;_;

Whoaaa, so many good suggestions. OO:

I'm game for a lighthearted mep, so we can throw that one on the table too...and yes, we're for sure doing the timeline MEP but probably not just yet. I'd feel more comfortable doing it after we've got a couple other projects under our belt.

So what I'm gathering is that most people want a themed MEP or a lighthearted MEP. I really like the idea of "Strange World" for something more lighthearted - that was actually a really good suggestion Macy, wow. It's serious but light, I think it's cool, and I can definitely envision it with PH. And all of Guns song suggestions are really good as well. Anything else?

I really like the idea of doing something light-hearted! I was kind of thinking the same thing as /shot
I also really like the Broken Iris song, and I think it would work well...

A bit late to discussion but... maybe we could do a megamix or something for the timeline MEP later on =P
